CAST report - Town Hall 2.0 event on February 12 Print

An important dialogue will take place this week among stakeholders, academics, policymakers and related experts to discuss meeting the food needs for the next generation.

The event, "9 Billion Served: A Global Dialogue on Meeting Food Needs for the Next Generation" will be held Friday, February 12 at the Newseum in Washington, DC from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Eastern).  As a Town Hall 2.0 event, it will also be available online.

Co-hosting the event are BIO (Biotechnology Industry Organization), CropLife International (CLI) and the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST).   The discussion will feature the newest publication from CAST, "Agricultural Productivity Strategies for the Future:  Addressing U.S. and Global Challenges" that includes a preface written by Dr. Norman Borlaug before he passed away (this was also highlighted by TATT's Feb. 5 column Take It To The Farmers by Rosalie Ellasus from the Philippines).
